would like an invitation
that reflects their own unique style,
personalities or special theme. Here at Paper Magic we do our own design
and
production in house so custom designs are possible.
Time Frame
It is
recommended that you allow at least 3-4 weeks development
time when
requesting a custom design. This is additional to production time of
1.5-2weeks.

Custom design process and
info:
Stage 1:
Brainstorm it!
To get you started, think about the size and style would you like
eg: A flat single layer card or something that folds.
If you are unsure, take a look around the invitation pages and see if
anything
appeals to you. We can start of with a base of size, style, colour and
card type
and then work in your ideas, colours and/or theme.
Once we have an idea of what
you would like done a pricing outline
will be emailed to you. If you would like to proceed with
having
Paper Magic
help you with your wedding stationery let us know and an
invoice will be emailed
to you to pay a $50.00 deposit. This is to be
paid before design work commences.
The next
step is to talk over all aspects of design, colour and style
and develop a design brief for us to follow and try and get inside your
head.
What
colours do you love? Which do you hate? What style do you want to
portray - conservative, funky, quirky? You may want to
send us
photos of things you love, this may not necessarily be invitations but
photos
or a link to your venue, flowers or even a magazine
advertisement for something
totally unrelated to weddings but you just like the style or an element
in it.
Keep in mind that the clearer
your brief and making quick decisions
will help the whole process go more smoothly.
Brain
storming a brief can start of with an email, though often the complex
nature of custom designs will require us to talk through the details
with you over
the phone or in person. We are happy to call a NZ land line number and
evening phone consultations can be arranged. If you are overseas and

Stage 2: Design it!
Once we have a brief and your text/information we will email you a
first draft in a PDF format. This may include some variations/concepts
for you to choose from (typically 2-4). Custom designing often involves a
lot of pushing elements around a page and seeing how it all works. What
you are sent may not be everything we worked on but just what we settled
on as the best versions.
Stage 3: Refine it!
You may think one of the concepts is just perfect as it is and if so, Great!
You
may
see something you like but it just needs tweaking here and there. We'll
put all
our expertise into designing an invitation that we hope you will love.
Up to three revisions are allowed for in the base custom design fee.
Any enclosure cards (RSVP/Information
cards) will be worked on once the
invitations have been refined down to a final copy.
